LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Places around Lynchburg are setting up tributes to the 13 U.S. soldiers who lost their lives in a suicide bombing at the Kabul International Airport.

The Moose Lodge on Lakeside Drive set theirs up Monday.

Social Quarters Manager, Heather Brennan, says it's about giving back.

"Well the flags are for the 13 that died and there's 13 place settings for each one of them that was lost and will not be returning home to us," Brennan said.

A place where nobody can sit, just honor those who laid down their lives. Brennan says it's going to be up for at least two weeks.

Brennan says they will have a special where any Moose Club military member, active or veteran, can get a free sandwich on Tuesday.

Their overall message to anyone involved in the military is thanks.

"That we are still here to tell the families thank you for sending their young men and women overseas for us," Brennan said.
