Giving A Hand Up To Families In Need

Members from 715 Lynchburg Moose are 'Giving a Hand Up to Families in Need' for Thanksgiving once again this year.

Members are invited to bring their donation of Food Items or every day toiletry items to the Lodge for this important Community Service Project.

As you know, we support many different charities during the year and really focus on the Children and Seniors that need some cheer during the holidays due to unforeseen circumstances..

A number of families have been identified, (both member families and families in the community), and will be presented with these Thanksgiving Bags.

Many, Many Thanks are extended to the Membership and Staff at 715 Lynchburg Moose for the great outpouring of contributions of Food Items and various other every day staple items that many of us take for granted.

The 715 Lynchburg Lodge will be closed Thursday, November 23rd, 2023 for Thanksgiving and will reopen Friday, November 24th, 2023.

May everyone have a Great Thanksgiving.

Special Membership Meeting and Check Presentation Sept. 12, 2022

A Drone Named Tommy

posted 9/14/2022

The 715 Lynchburg Lodge hosted a Special Membership Meeting Monday, September 12, 2022 recognizing our Valued Veterans and welcomed Lynchburg Police Chief Ryan M. Zuidema and Lynchburg Police Foundation President Richard W. "Rick" Loving for a Check presentation in the amount $15,000.00 earmarked for their Drone Program.

Lynchburg Moose 715 is grateful to the American Legion Post 16 for providing Color Guard for this memorable occasion.

Moose Pilgrim of the Order and Lynchburg Lodge 715 Government Relations Chairperson Robbie Robertson was present to recognize all member Valued Verterans.

The Check Presentation is the second contribution the Lynchburg Lodge 715 has made to the Lynchburg Police Foundation.  In April, 2022, $1,246.00 raised from the third annual Car Show was presented to the Foundation as part of the Lodge's mission of giving back to the community.

The specialized Drone is capable of night vision and has infrared technology. The Drone is capable of light transport and can provide overhead lighting.

The Drone will be named Tommy ... in honor of the Moose Fraternity's Tommy Moose Program.  The Tommy Moose® program aids in helping children overcome fears and anxiety during times of stress. Donated to Law Enforcement, Fire, and other Emergency workers, Tommy Moose plush dolls are presented to children in various traumatic situations.

“It is the support of donors like the Moose Lodge that allow the Lynchburg Police Foundation to continue providing the Lynchburg Police with critical equipment they need,” said Loving. “These types of resources the Foundation is able to secure through donations help our law enforcement officers keep our community safe.”

Car Show Benefitting the Lynchburg Police Foundation

posted 5/16/2022

The 715 Lynchburg Lodge Moose Legion Committee hosted its 3rd Anual Car Show Saturday, April 16th, 2022, as a benefit fundraiser for the Lynchburg Police Foundation.

Events included the Car Show, Door Prizes, 50 / 50's, and a Free EZ Child ID Event making the world a safer place for our children.

Lynchburg Police Foundation and members of the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD), including Chief Ryan Zuidema, attended the day-long car show to promote the LPF nonprofit and its efforts.

Throughout the day, members of the LPD Drone Team demonstrated one of its drones funded by the LPF. Interested citizens, following instruction by the Drone Team, had the opportunity to fly the drone above the Moose Lodge parking lot. Also available at the day’s event were members of the LPD Community Action Team who shared information with attendees the significance of building community relationships. A valuable tool in the process is use of the community trailer, which was also on display and funded by the LPF.

Catching everyone’s attention at the fundraiser was the LPD’s new black-and-white-designed police vehicle, which was on exhibit for all to see.

The 715 Moose Lodge donated $1,246 from the day’s events to the LPF. A check was presented to Chief Zuidema by Greg Kirby of the Moose Lodge.

Tommy Moose Presentation to Lynchburg Fire Stations

posted 12/06/2021

Members from 715 Lynchburg Moose Lodge visited 7 Lynchburg Fire Stations today and presented each Fire Station with food to express our Thanks and Appreciation for all they do for us being front line workers during the pandemic and all the new variants.

A Total of seventy (70) Tommy Moose were presented to the Lynchburg Fire Department, ten (10) to each Fire Station.

Tommy Moose® is a friendly, playful, cuddly moose doll whose sole purpose is to bring comfort to children in times of stress, uncertainty, or anxiety. He personifies one of the cornerstone tenants of the Loyal Order of Moose: caring for children.

Since 2002, over 100,000 Tommy Moose plush dolls have been donated to shelters, hospitals, and emergency workers, who in turn deliver them to children in need of some comfort when facing some of life’s biggest challenges.

The Fire personell at each Station were very appreciative for the Food and the Tommy Moose dolls.

I would like to give special thanks to our staff as they deserve a pat on the back. Special thanks to Heather, Donna, April, Randal, and Eddie.
